HOW DOES IT WORK?

WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO ENTER?
Ah, the rules. This is an indie series featuring an underdog and like attracts like, so here’s what we’re looking for and what you need to know:
- You are an unsigned artist
- You own all rights to your song; e.g. music, lyrics & recording
- You have, or can provide by spring of 2016 a studio quality recording of your song (home-spun ok for submission)
WHAT IF I CO-WROTE THE SONG?
As long as all parties sign the royalty/placement agreement and meet the above criteria then yes, your song is eligible for submission.
WHO IS SELECTING THE MUSIC FOR PLACEMENT?
Our panel of music supervisors are all volunteer, fellow Indie musicians and Indie music supporters who are sharing their time/talents to help us produce the premier episode independently.
WHAT DO WE GET?
- All entries will be followed on social media by 12 Adventures & given a shout-out to thousands of new listeners across 12 Adventures social media.
- All artists whose songs are placed in the series will be listed in the IMDB and film credits!
- A one time, royalty payment of $100 if your song is selected for placement in the 12 Adventures premier episode.
HOW MANY ENTRIES?
As long as they fit within our guidelines, enter as many songs as you like, but the total limit of entries accepted is 2,800. Why 2,800? Because we want to ensure we have the time/resources to give each song submission our full attention. Just that simple.
WHAT KIND OF SONGS ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?
We’re interested in all genres, but specifically songs that are uplifting, that convey hope, beating the odds, energy, facing fears, adventure, etc. Every episode will have a need for ballads as well as hard driving beats.
HOW WILL I KNOW YOU RECEIVED MY SONG SUBMISSION?
Within a few days you’ll receive a Like on Facebook and/or a Follow on Twitter from 12 Adventures with a shout-out thanking you for your submission, i.e., “Thanks Keen for submitting your song, Great Day, to 12 Adventures~”
WHEN IS THE DEADLINE TO ENTER?
March 1, 2016 or when the limit of 2,800 song submissions is reached, whichever comes first.
HOW ARE THE PLACEMENTS DECIDED?
All songs are fielded by our Executive Music Supervisor, Justin Helland, along with Producer/Host Ali Gilmore. Up to 12 final round songs will be selected and forwarded on to be reviewed by a panel of music supervisors; Indie artists, PR and film and every day film/music buffs. These songs will also be presented to 12 Adventures followers on Facebook/Twitter to weigh in on before placements are selected.
WHEN ARE PLACEMENTS DECIDED AND ANNOUNCED?
The top potential selections will be announced on the 12 Adventures Facebook page/Twitter by mid March, 2016. Placements will be offered to artist(s) by mid April, 2016 and contacted via email. Payment made (via PayPal) upon receipt of usable audio file and signed agreement (approximately within 2 weeks of placement accepted).
WHAT’S IN THE AGREEMENT?
It’s signed by Ali Gilmore/Producer and all who own the rights to the song agreeing to accept a one time payment of $100 for placement in the premier episode as proof we paid to play your music (covering our butts), and that royalty payment is re-negotiated if the series is picked up by a network, etc (covering yours). Hey, if we grow, you grow. That’s how this whole thing works~
WHAT IF MY MUSIC ISN’T SELECTED FOR THE PREMIER EPISODE?
All songs submitted will be placed in a “shortlist” database for us to refer back to for potential placement throughout the three year project.
